AARP/VITA/IRSĀ  Volunteer Tax Assistance Program
VITA/IRS/AARP VOLUNTEER TAX ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Free tax preparation and electronic filing of federal and state returns will be offered at the New Canaan Town Hall.  Appointments are suggested; walk-ins accepted.  Open to all individual filers.  There is no age or income limitation.  The service is particularly suited for low and middle-income households, and those over 60 years of age.


  •  IRS-Certified Tax counselors will be available at 77 Main Street, New Canaan,  Wednesdays, 9:00AM to 3:00PM, beginning January 29, 2020 until and including April 15, 2020.
  • The link below is a checklist of required documentation you MUST bring on the day of your scheduled appointment.  If you do not have all required documentation, a new appointment will be necessary.  2019 Tax forms, personal, and other financial documents are required.
