Giggling Pig Art Program

Mad Lab
Are you ready to create fun-filled, interactive projects, that will make you engineers and designers?  Join Mr. MacDonald in this exciting STEM course where participants will get to build rockets, giant marble mazes, magic wands, and egg spaceships.  Each project will teach you about the world around you and help you to become amazing scientists and engineers.  The only thing you need to bring is your imagination!

Stars at South: Acting 101 - Lisa Dahlstrom
Lights! Camera! Action! This course teaches students basic acting skills through a variety of techniques and collaborative work. Students will have the opportunity to use acting games to improve their improv work, while also working with other students to practice performing monologues and scripts. We will utilize acting vocabulary and create a fun environment for students to explore their interest in acting.

Cupcake Decorating
Come join My Cupcake Party as we create winter and Valentine themed cupcakes! From polar bears to valentine roses the kids will receive hands on instruction and create 2 new cupcake designs each week. They will then use the skills learned to create their own “freestyle” design to take home.   They will take home 3 completed cupcakes per week.

LEGO Maniacs-Karen Pedicano

STEAM and Exploration-Samantha Berg
If your learner loves to problem solve, think outside of the box, create and participate in hands-on learning such as experiments and building then this class is for them! We will explore topics such as engineering, chemical interaction, force and motion, and gravity. This will be a student centered class where they will be transformed in to problem solvers and will work together to build and create experiments.

Woodworking
Join the Young Woodworkers club this winter as we create a wooden tabletop hockey game! Kids will build, paint, and then play with this fun wooden game. This popular project is fun to make then take home and use with family and friends. Kids will learn basic woodworking skills utilizing hammers, screwdrivers and occasional power drill if needed.

 Mad Science
“Stay curious and keep exploring” in our Winter Wonder Lab where we will have an arctic blast and simulate one too! We will create snow that will never melt and melt a snowman the only will melt the Mad Science way! Winter forces will help us learn how to keep us balanced! Elephant Toothpaste and slime will create some heat in our icy lab! We will use special crisp pencils to make wintery lights and even see sparkly, colorful flames that resemble Northern Lights! Every student receives a lab coat, goggles, and specially designed Mad Science Take Homes to help extend learning at home!

Chess Club
Looking for a fun way to help your children improve their critical thinking skills, patience, sportsmanship and problem solving? The class is open to players of all levels from beginners to players with tournament experience. Students will learn the rules and moves of the game, and then focus on basic opening theory. Students will also be introduced to middle game ideas and learn numerous checkmate patterns. Players will be paired according to their level to play supervised games during each class and deepen their chess understanding by solving checkmates on diagrams tailored to their individual level. Players will learn to use chess clocks and record their moves.

Guitar
This class will start you on your way to enjoying music and playing the guitar. You don’t even have to own a guitar, one will be provided for you by the instructor for each and every class! Each of the six- one hour classes will provide a high level of group instruction in a fun and cooperative atmosphere. Learn cords, scales and theory and best of all, learn to play your favorite songs! Rental guitars are also available for students to practice their new talent in their home.

Food Explorers
Join Food Explorers for our newest cooking class theme: Chocolate Crazy! Each week you’ll make something from scratch containing chocolate as an ingredient. You’ll be making: Chocolate Croissant Bites, S’mores Cups, Dessert Tacos, Brownie Batter, Chocolate Cake Pops and White Chocolate Orange Cheesecake Cups. All recipes are nut free but will may contain dairy and/or eggs.

Sports Spectacular
Let’s Play! Save the best for last by finishing up the school day with Sports Spectacular, a variety athletic program that features different sports throughout the session. Participants will practice skills and play games in both traditional sports and playground favorites. The Sports Spectacular Variety Program features the best “to-do” list ever – Basketball, Soccer, Flag Football, Kickball, Capture the Flag, Wiffle Ball, Bump and Bite, Knights and Dragons, Numbers Game, Tag Games, Safe Base and MORE! OTA covers all the bases with our emphasis on playing, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fitness. Don’t miss out on the FUN!
