Waveny Cross Country Races 2021
The New Canaan Recreation Department 2021 Waveny Summer Cross Country Race series schedule has been announced for this summer at Waveny Park. The Cross Country Races are held on Tuesday evenings beginning at 7:00 p.m. June 1 through August 17.
ADULTS- A series of short 5K races for adults through the fields and trails of Waveny Park will start on the west lawn of the castle. Prize T-shirts will be awarded in general to the top 3 overall men and women, first 18 & under, and 40 & over who have not previously won. Specialty races including Predicted Time; Age Graded 5K; and Handicap Time race will have special award catagories.
YOUTH- Additional youth ages 8-13 “Kids Fun Run” dates are included and cover a course of .5-1 mile with medals to all finishers.
Weather conditions will cause race postponement. In case of heavy rain, thunderstorms or high heat and humidity, races will be postponed to Thursday. Check the main page of clubct.org by 5pm for notice. Due to safety and insurance issues, no headphones, dogs or baby strollers will be permitted.
REGISTRATION- begins 6:30 pm in the west parking lot of Waveny House. Race participants are restricted from parking in the west lot and must use the lower lots. First-time participants must fill out the waiver/emergency contact form at the registration area before entering a race. Adults $4.00; Students & kids $3.00 per person. August 17 Luminaria Loop (to benefit Jenny Crain Fund)($5 entry fee)
