Start Smart Golf- ages 5-7

Start Smart Programs are created by the National Alliance for Youth Sports and developed by top motor skill development specialists in the field of youth sports to help kids get ready for sports.

Start Smart Golf is a developmentally appropriate introductory golf program for children ages 5-7 who have never played golf and a parent must accompany each child for the entire five week program. Start Smart Golf teaches children a variety of golf skills including putting, chipping and the full-swing through a unique system of coaching parent-child groups through stations during the one-hour sessions. Parents spend quality time together with their child while learning how to properly teach skills and support them playing golf. Developmentally appropriate golf equipment from SNAG® is used for the program.

Start Smart Golf will be held on Saturday mornings 8:45 a.m.-9:45 a.m. for 5 weeks April 11 – May 16 (No Class April 18) at the East School Gymnasium.

The cost of the Start Smart Golf Program is $120 per child. Registration for the program will begin on February 1 online, by-mail, or in-person at the Recreation Department Office in Waveny House. Contact Recreation Department for further information on the Spring Start Smart Golf Program.
