Week of 5/27/24: Cedar Lane (2 days) Betsy's Lane (1 day) The process is called Hot-In-Place Asphalt Recycling.

Hot-In-Place Asphalt Recycling is a process whereby the existing asphalt is heated to a high temperature, scarified, milled, combined with an asphalt rejuvenating product and re-applied. Since no material is removed from the job-site and only an asphalt rejuvenator is applied, there is a considerable cost-savings over other traditional methods. The machine used generates a considerable amount of heat in the recycling process and can, on occasion, cause noticeable leaf discoloration; much the same as occurs each fall. This is a temporary condition that results in no permanent damage to the tree.

Should you have any questions regarding this project please do not hesitate to contact Director of Public Works Tiger Mann at (203) 594-3056 Tiger.Mann@newcanaanct.gov or our Highway Superintendent Mose Saccary at (203) 594-3709 mose.saccary@newcanaanct.gov. Please seek alternate routes to avoid delays. There will be flaggers to direct alternating one-way traffic thru the work zone. Emergency Vehicles, School Buses and Local Traffic are allowed thru the Work Zone. Please let us know if you have any special circumstances or considerations during the proposed work. We thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to improve our road network.
