The New Canaan Health Department works with these agencies to assure compliance with all local, state, and federal asbestos regulations. Prior to health department approval for any demolition a full asbestos inspection survey with lab results, state demo notication form, and abatement compliance letter are required with a $200 demolition review fee. There are no exceptions or age of structure that excludes asbestos testing since asbestos is still used in products today & not banned in the US.
