Human Services

What We Do

The mission of the Department of Human Services is to help all New Canaan residents to function optimally by developing programs and activities that address developmental needs, as well as helping residents obtain appropriate social services and resources.

Community Health Center in Stamford is holding a drive-through COVID vaccination this week. Organizers said people 75 and older can make an appointment by calling 877-918-2224 in the Lord & Taylor parking lot at 110 High Ridge Road in Stamford.

****New Canaan Vulnerable Resident Outreach Registry****
New Canaan Human Services is updating its vulnerable population registry. In the event of a storm or town-wide emergency, staff will contact those residents wishing to receive a wellness call. If you are a New Canaan resident 65+ and/or homebound/disabled (or know of someone) and would like to have your name added to the Outreach Registry, please contact Marcy Rand, LMSW, Adult and Senior Services Coordinator at 203-594-3083 or email:

****Instacart Offering Online Delivery Services for Seniors****
Here’s how it works. Citizens over the age of 60 call the Instacart support line at 1-844-981-3433, between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. A dedicated specialist will assist them setting up an account, filling out a virtual shopping cart and placing their first order.  Please contact Marcy Rand, LMSW, Adult and Senior Services Coordinator at 203-594-3083 or email:
