The US Geological Survey has updated the magnitude to 4.8 for the earthquake this morning. There are no reports of damage in town. Metro North is showing the New Canaan Branch as running on or close to schedule.

A 4.8 magnitude earthquake has been reported by the US Geological Survey 7km North-north-east of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey at a depth of 5km at 10:23AM.
It was felt strongly here in New Canaan though there are no reports of damage in town. There is no word from the USGS about potential aftershocks, although it is a possibility.
