Town Receives Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting
The Town of New Canaan received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for the Town’s Fiscal Year 2022 comprehensive financial report. The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which include demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure," clearly communicating its financial story, and motivating potential users and user groups to read the report.
Town Chief Financial Officer Anne Kelly-Lenz and Comptroller Diane Wilson received individual certificates for their work on the report.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
