Medicare Open Enrollment Appointments Available at Lapham Community Center
New Canaan residents who have questions about Medicare Part D or regular Medicare may meet with a Lapham Community Center trained volunteer, by appointment, during the open enrollment period between Oct. 15 and Dec. 7. This service is one of the most important and appreciated programs that Lapham offers, according to Community Center Director Aggie Aspinwall.
Lapham is now accepting appointments for the open enrollment period through Sign Up Genius, which is linked to the center’s emailed newsletter, or residents may call Lapham at 203-594-3620 to schedule an appointment.
The Medicare meetings with Lapham volunteers often result in cost savings for the residents. Since the program began 17 years ago, the volunteers have offered over 6,000 hours of time and have saved New Canaan residents over $2.5 million. In 2022 alone, Lapham Center and their volunteers provided 442 appointments saving residents over $200,000 during the open enrollment period for Medicare Part D.
This special program during Medicare open enrollment is in addition to Lapham’s service of answering routine questions and new-to-Medicare questions twice every month, also by appointment.
