Aquarion Water Company extends voluntary watering restrictions
Effective Friday, July 16, the Aquarion Water Company is extending its request for voluntary water restrictions through Friday, July 23.
Bruce Silverstone, Aquarion's Vice President of Corporate Communications, stated, "Although the precipitation we experienced this past Tuesday and Wednesday offered short-term relief, the forecast through next week shows more hot weather and very little rain. Consequently, we are taking a forward-looking approach."
As a reminder, the voluntary restrictions include:
" Water lawns on alternate calendar days, depending on address (People with odd-numbered addresses water their lawns and gardens on odd-numbered days from 5 and 9 a.m., or 7 to 9 p.m.; people with even-numbered addresses would water during those time periods on even-numbered days)
" Do not wash boats, cars and other motor vehicles at home
" Sweep sidewalks, driveways and decks, instead of "hosing them down"
" Cover pools when not in use to prevent evaporation.
We will continue to issue updates as appropriate.
Aquarion Water Company serves approximately 580,000 people in 39 communities throughout Connecticut. It is among the seven largest investor-owned water utility companies in the U.S., and the largest in New England.
