    General seasonal registration dates start: Spring Program- February 1; Summer Programs- April 1; Fall Programs- August 1; Winter Programs- November 1.  All programs are open to the residents of the Town of New Canaan and registration is coordinated through the Recreation Department Office. Program registrations will be received either in person, by mail, or soon online as described below.

    Ways to Register:

    In Person- you may register in person at the Recreation Department Office in Waveny House. Please observe the office hours posted of Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed on holidays). A few special Saturday morning openings will be announced in the Recreation Department Brochure. Registration Forms and information sheets are available in the office or available for download on the Town website www.newcanaan.info . All information requested on the registration form must be completed and waiver signed by a parent (for child) or the adult (for individual adult). Payment may be made by cash, check, or credit card. Please make checks payable to "Town of New Canaan". Programs with lottery registrations are payment by check or credit card only.

    By Mail- you may register by mail paying close attention to program registration deadlines. The Recreation Department does not guarrantee the receipt of mail and problems that may occur with mail delivery or delay. Mail to: New Canaan Recreation Department, Post Office Box 852, New Canaan, CT. 06840. Most programs have online registration and some registration forms are available online for download on the Town website www.newcanaan.info . You may request a registration form be sent to you by calling the Recreation Office. All information requested on the registration form must be completed and waiver signed by a parent (for child) or the adult (for individual adult). Payment must be made by check only payable to the "Town of New Canaan".

    Online Program Registration- Online program registration is available for many programs through a link on the Town website. These programs will be available for registration at any time of the day or evening anywhere there is internet access (home, office, etc.). Programs with lottery registrations will not be available on-line along with facility rentals and facility pass permit purchases (waveny pool, kiwanis park, mead tennis, waveny paddle tennis) which require a photo to be taken and a ID card to be printed in the Recreation Department Office. You may browse the site anytime as a guest but must have a username and password issued by the Recreation Department Office in order to register for any of the program offerings. Call or email the Recreation Department to obtain this username and password.     Payment Policy:
    Payment may be made by cash, check (payable to "Town of New Canaan"), or credit card (in-office or on-line for Visa, American Express, Discover or MasterCard). There is a $25 cash processing fee for all checks returned by the bank. Programs with lottery registrations are payment by check only.

    Scholarship Requests:
    Full or partial scholarships are available to those with financial need. Do not use the on-line registration process as it will require payment at the time of registration and no refunds for financial assistance will be issued after payment is made. Anyone requesting these services may contact the Recreation Director or Assistant Director for a confidential discussion. Direct contact to the Human Services Department (594-3076) may also be made for scholarship requests.

    Refund Policy Recreation Programs
    Refunds will be processed through the same form of original payment (all except cash which will be processed by check).  No pro-rated partial refunds.  For all programs other than Day Camp - full refund given if withdrawal notification received up to two days prior to the program start and return of unused t-shirt or hat, less administrative fee of $5.00. Day Camps - full refund given if withdrawal notification received up to ten days prior to the session start, less administrative fee of $5.00. Facility Permits - no refunds on permits for Pool, Kiwanis, Tennis, Paddle.

    Enrollment Requirements deadlines and program cancellations
    Many programs have a minimum number of participants requirement in order for us to meet the costs of the program. In addition, a maximum enrollment limit must be set based on facility size and instructor requirements. The decision to cancel a program must be made days before the start to assist parents with schedule changes, carpools and school dismissals. Sometimes this is prior to established registration deadlines. Last day and last minute registrations may be met with disappointing program cancellation notices. Not to worry, we will always provide a full refund for cancelled programs. Please consider an early registration for this years programs.
