Spring 2017 Horses 101- Mead Farm 

The New Canaan Recreation Department will be partnering with Mead Farm in Stamford to offer New Canaan residents a Horses 101 program this spring 2017.

Open to ages 5 & up, teenagers and adults are welcome.  A four week program with Sunday classes.  Students will have a total of 4 classes held at the Mead Farm, 107 June Road, Stamford.  Participants are responsible for transportation to the Mead Farm.  Each class with an instructor will include .5 hour outdoor horseback riding in a ring plus a .5 hour horsemanship class covering general horse care, grooming, tacking & untacking.  Requirements are a signed waiver, long pants and shoes with a slight heel.  Riding helmets are also required and provided by Mead Farm if you do not own one.  Contact Mead Farm for specific program questions or for futher assistance contact the Recreation Office.

Fee: $270. per person

Sunday Session- 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. April 23, 30, May 7, 14 (Minimum enrollment 6, Maximum enrollment 12)
